Thanks to All

If you bought a copy of MARRIED TO BHUTAN in 2011 and especially if you took the time to write me and say you liked it, which so many people did, thank you so much. The book is doing well and I'm happy to say I'm working on the next one about our life in Bhutan and elsewhere. If you haven't gotten a copy of the book, what are you waiting for?

Yay for you!

You did such a great job of capturing magic and whimsy for a Western audience.

I can't wait for the next installment!

Thanks, Andrea. You made my day. You do a pretty great job with "Writings, cont." I hope we meet in person one day. I've never known anybody who was on Wheel of Fortune!

thanks, Jen. So nice of you to write. You made my day. Just let me know when you're coming. Or please let me know how you're doing wherever...just now I'm writing about ways we can 'simulate Bhutan' in our lives to find peace and happiness.

Hello Linda,

Your book was a gift from a friend for my 23rd birthday..I like the part where you talk about how a choice is different from a decision..I'm at funny phase of life now, choices to be made, decisions that have been made have to be dealt with...

Lovely read, detailed, there's a picture in my mind..and your story is charming, I was skeptical at first, (like you said, this story line has been 'done to death')..but the book was refreshing!

best part? A bunch of my girlfriends and I (incl. the one who got me the book) are inspired, and are thinking of backpacking around Bhutan, end of may-june..

Thank You for sharing your story with us..I only wish more of us had the courage to explore the unknown and be open to experiences like you have..

Love,
Veda

Hi Veda, Thanks so much for writing! It's hardly ever a bad idea to explore the unknown. I'm so happy you might be coming. Hiking around Bhutan with with some girlfriends would be heaven. It would change your life, I guarantee and in good ways. Promise you'll let me know when you're coming!

:), I've never ever read a book, dwelled on it, written to the author, received a reply, and planned a holiday around it before..This is definitely unexplored territory..

It would be lovely to meet you Linda Miss, I've never had a conversation with a character from a book before :)..

Will let you know the dates etc once we've made the plans..Thank You so much,

Love,
Veda

Just a small thanks for the book. I head to Bhutan next week to help facilitate some aggricultural planning meetings and your book gave me a small peek in prior to "being" there! Thank you!

Hi Nancy Thanks very much! Maybe we'll see you around Thimphu.

Can someone who bought the book in 2012 also leave a comment?
It caught my eye in a Thimphu bookstore and of course I had to have it. Apart from the fact that it made delightful reading it was also very useful for the rest of the trip. For example, I was unfazed to be left alone in that temple room of a private home in Mongar, never seeing a member of the family. Best of all, I knew the ditty 'Ka gee goo ki' which brouhgt me lots of kudos with my guide when he tried to explain Dzongkha to me.
I could just picture your enthusiasm in the first years and it sort of echoed my own, though twenty years later.
Overall result: Am still struggling with the alphabet (haven't worked out the permutations either) and hope to find your second book in Thimphu when I go back next march. Keep up the good work! -Silvia-
