Great Bhutan Evening

We had such a great time at the Bhutan Foundation event at Cumberland Gallery in Nashville on Saturday with Rob and Carol Stein, long time friends of Bhutan. Dr. Rob Stein started the Orthopedics Overseas program in Bhutan in 1991. He's been director of the program for all of these years and American orthopedists have volunteered in the hospital in Thimphu each month for over 20 years. The top picture is Tshewang Wangchuk, executive director of the Bhutan Foundation who gave a fantastic talk and showed great pictures. He's with Lonnie, who is coming to Bhutan and whom I love. Then Tshewang and Namgay, Lynee D. and me, and the Steins and us all together. Rob Stein looks great in a gho, by the way. Thanks to all the people who came. There were over 80 of you which was wonderful. And thanks so much for your support of Namgay's Art Apprentice Program. Here's to Bhutan and new beginnings!

Rockets on Display

If you're around Nashville this evening from 5 to 7pm, please come to Cumberland Gallery for a Bhutanese Evening. Tshewang Wangchuk, Executive Director of the Bhutan Foundation will talk, and so will I (briefly) about all things Bhutan. Phurba Namgay will have art, including these beautiful rocket pictures. There will be wine. I know some of you will come for that.
